The Courses at Andrews; “Where we have accomplished something very special”. Our superior golf reputation has become highly recognized. The facility at Joint Base Andrews offers not only superb golf, but also excellent banquet and conference facilities. As our old and new friends make use of our facility, we hope they will take note and enjoy the quality, personal service, and thoughtfully planned amenities that will make your event a memorable one.

Your interest in holding an event at The Courses has led to the compilation of this step-by-step, easy-to-use package. This brochure was designed to guide you through the many details and arrangements entailed in organizing a successful event. The information included has been derived from past questions, concerns, and experiences. Please contact our Catering Department for any additional information. General Course Information

AMENITIES

The Courses at Andrews offers the golfing patron two 18-hole championship Golf Courses, known as the “East”, and the “South” courses.  Also featured is our restaurant “Griff’s Place” as well as two practice putting greens, two chipping areas, and a driving range. The spacious clubhouse includes a well-stocked Pro Shop, Banquet Rooms, Cocktail Lounge, along with a Gentlemen’s and Women’s Lounge (both of which include shower facilities). The complex is managed in a relaxed “country-club” atmosphere with hospitality remaining our first priority.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Our restaurant “Griff’s Place” handles all catering of food and beverages (opening in 2022). Individuals, or outside caterers, will not be permitted to bring food or beverages onto the premises. Our Golf Pro Shop will have some snacks and drinks available.

SERVICE CHARGE

A 20% service charge will be added to all food and beverage items. There are no sales taxes involved.

SET-UP/BREAK DOWN

The golf staff will assist in setting out favors or any other decorations; however, we are not responsible for any damages or loss of said decorations. The amount of decorating time will be based on room availability.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

Please keep in mind that the Golf Course Facility is located on a military installation and in this modern society, security is a constant watchword. To assure all guests obtain easy access to the installation, we request all visitors enter from the Virginia Avenue gate (located off the Old Alexander Ferry Road) only. Let the entry controller know you will be going to the Golf Course. All entries will need to show a picture identification card (driver’s license or military ID). A list of participants along with Driver’s License numbers and State are required for all non-Federal employees.

CONTRACT DEPOSITS

A Deposit is required 60 days prior to your organizational event. All golf-related events require a $100.00 deposit. Please be aware that the deposit will be forfeited if minimum tournament requirements are not met. For the events that fulfill the minimum requirements, the deposit is simply applied to the final invoice. All events require a $200.00 deposit. To request 2 courses, a deposit of $200.00 is required and a minimum of 200 participants. The Courses reserve the right to reduce the number of courses requested if minimum participation is not met.

A contract is required for all functions held at The Courses at Andrews. At the time of making your deposit, a contract will be established. Your contract is to be finalized and signed within 30 days of your event. A confirmation of guaranteed attendance is required 72 hours prior to the function and the club shall prepare for 5% over the guaranteed number.

PAYMENT

The Golf Course will accept the following forms of payment; cash, check, Visa, and/or MasterCard.
Payment must be received in full no later than 48 hours in advance of the non-golf event with payment determined by the final count. You will be billed for any extra person(s) and for additional charges associated with the next working day following your event. This payment will be automatically billed to your commercial credit card, with a receipt forwarded for your records.

Golf Information

EVENT SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

To schedule a First Tee Golf tournament (a block of tee times), a minimum of 40 players is required. First Tee format tournaments are usually scheduled on Thursdays throughout the year. To schedule a Shotgun event, (all players commencing at the same time at different hole locations, a minimum of 72 players is required (the maximum is 144 per course). Shotgun events are normally scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Weekends and holidays scheduling is available after 2:00 pm.

TOURNAMENT REQUEST LETTER

Upon making your tentative booking, we require a Tournament request letter to be submitted to the Golf Course General Manager. Based upon date/course availability, we will return a confirmation letter for your records (Please complete our Golf Tournament Application).

SCORING

Our professional staff will use advanced computer applications to score all golf tournaments. The numerous HDTV monitors located around our covered patios make great visual displays of the scores.

TOURNAMENT PRIZES

Welcome to the largest resale Golf Pro Shop in the Air Force. We invite you to visit our Golf Shop to view the latest in fashionable attire. A member of our staff will gladly assist you in choosing an appropriate prize package for those lucky winners. Gift Certificates are also available for your convenience and may be purchased in any dollar amount from our Administration Office; or, Email us your requirements and your choice of tournament prizes will be prepared prior to the event. A bulk purchase tournament discount of 15% is available. Inquire with the Catering Department for particulars.

RIDING GOLF CARTS

Although riding golf carts are not mandatory for the East Course, we do suggest their utilization in the interest of pace of play. Riding carts are mandatory for the South Course. Please inform us of the approximate number of carts to be reserved with your final count 48 hours prior. You may desire to have the player’s name cards placed upon each pre-assigned cart. Provide us the pairings, and our staff will prepare the cart cards and have them mounted upon the carts for you.

BEVERAGE CARTS

Riding beverage carts are also available. The beverage carts will be located on the loading dock at the rear of the kitchen and will be filled to your specifications by our staff. All beverages will be pre-inventoried to assure the correct amount is accounted for and verified by your chosen representative. A maximum of two carts will be operated (depending on the size of your group) by the Golf Course staff and the services are provided at no cost.

COMPETITION MARKERS

For “The Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin” markers, please inform ahead of time, in order for us to prepare these for you. Common holes used for the Longest Drive competition are #1 and 14 on the East Course and #1 and 14 on the South Course. For the Closest to the Pin #7 and 16 on the East Course, and #3 and 15 on the South Course.

HOLE ASSIGNMENT CARDS

For Shotgun tournaments may we suggest you make use of our Hole Assignment Board. This is an organized way of letting each foursome know which hole to begin to play and an easy method for your tournament representative to check-in attendees. If you provide us your pairings sheets, we will gladly fill in the names. Any last-minute changes can be made on the day of the event.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Due to unforeseen inclement weather, the occasional “rain-out” is inevitable. Please make early telephone contact with the Golf Course Administration Office should there be stormy or uncooperative weather on the day of your event. The “General Rule” is that we do not close the course. However, should the course become deemed unplayable, we will try to reschedule for the next available date suited to your agenda. CONTACT US
